"The critical vocabulary of abstraction pervasive in his art practice does not go missing in this book format Untitled work. The hand-painted work, carrying the word Sleep in Silence – Silence will speak to you, reflecting on the cycle of time. In a similar vein, the lyrical words – Light Is The Captive Of Darkness/ I Can See The Radiance Of The Dark/If You Light A Candle – My Light Will Disappear From Me – is a glimpse of his philosophical proclivity. The porous yet hard texture of the Untitled work made with papier mache for the collector is a reminder of the arduous journey, dotted with permeability and hardship, the artist undertook during the time of Partition of the Indian Subcontinent from East Bangladesh to India. To mention the paper for the work was imported from Italy. Like the texture of work, the play of black and white palette, reminds the collector of the paradoxical bent of Haloi’s mind." — Dilpreet Bhullar
