Art Writers’ Award 2022

In continuation of TAKE on Art’s commitment to art writing and Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia’s sustained efforts in promoting critical discourse, we are pleased to announce the fourth edition of Art Writers’ Award (AWA). The vision of the award is to recognize Indian art writers and offer the recipient a research residency in Switzerland for a period of up to 60 days.

Open Call for Art Practitioners — Memoria Major: Constellation of Memories

Irrevocably, the overarching tendency to anchor a unified and official history in the times of the 75th year of 1947 Partition serves as a timely backdrop to offer an access point to the assemblage of diverse ideas and distinct exploration of the presence of a flourishing field of cultural and personal memories in South Asia. In doing so, TAKE Memory is an endeavour to expand the many meanings entailed to the discipline of memory.

TAKE symposium — What Future Hides: Writing Critically In/For A Changing Nation

The two-day symposium features panel discussions and roundtables to assess the diverse forms of critical writing practices across India in art, fiction, and translation, and explore possibilities to co-learn from each other to strengthen criticality in a post-critical world.

Panel Discussion on ‘Do Art Books Matter?’

The Raza Foundation in collaboration with India International Centre organises Art Matters LXXVII — a panel discussion on ‘Do Art Books Matter?’. Moderated by Ashok Vajpeyi, the panel includes Malvika Singh, Dayanita Singh, Pramod Kumar K. G., Bhavna Kakar, and Akshay Pathak.

TAKE Party — Celebrating 10 years of TAKE on Art and Gallery Latitude 28

Hosted by Bhavna Kakar, TAKE on Art and Gallery Latitude 28 celebrated an evening dedicated to fashion, food, art and culture from Bengal, to mark the completion of ten years of her two ventures. TAKE on Art also launched its 25th issue, TAKE Bengal during the party on 28th January 2020 at Rooh, Mehrauli.
