Tanya Dutt

Tanya Dutt is a researcher, curator, and editor working at the intersection of arts, culture, and community life across South Asia and international contexts. Her practice is grounded in long-form inquiry and editorial thinking, exploring how contemporary artistic platforms can activate cultural memory within public life and foster ethical collaboration between communities, artists, and institutions.

Through research-led projects, publications, and public programmes, she engages with marginalised and multilingual communities to build spaces of encounter, translation, and shared authorship. Having lived and worked in Japan, Italy, Cambodia, Australia, the UK, and across remote regions of India, her work is shaped by translocal exchange and long-term relational practice.

Her work has been recognised through the ART Think South Asia (ATSA) Fellowship (2017) and the South–South Arts Fellowship (2022). She is Consulting Editor at TAKE on Art Magazine and serves on the Advisory Panel of An AI of Our Own, a Global South–led initiative exploring ethical, community-centred approaches to generative AI rooted in living cultures.
