Georgina Maddox is an independent critic-curator with 20-years-experience in the field of Indian Art and Culture. She blurs the lines of documentation, theory and praxis by involving herself in visual art projects. She has engaged in the act of curating, collaborating and writing about art practices that examine and speak about issues of gender/sexuality/marginalisation and the juxtaposition of social hierarchy with acts of agency and defiance, over the years. She was recently Curator of the award-winning Barbil Art Project (BAP) pioneered by artist Jaganath Panda and hosted by the Arya Group in Odisha. As a critic she has worked with Indian Express, Times of India and India Today.
