Shalini Passi

Shalini Passi is a prominent Indian art collector, artist and cultural patron based in Delhi. Born in 1976, she comes from a family involved in architecture and construction and was influenced early on by her grandfather and father who sparked her interest in art and design. Shalini Passi initially started as a state-level gymnast but soon found her true passion in the arts, developing into a vibrant creator and advocate for contemporary Indian art. Shalini Passi’s artistic work explores themes like identity, culture and social issues using diverse mediums including painting, sculpture, and installation. Her style is known for being mentally stimulating and immersive, often blending modern concepts with rich narratives. Beyond creating art, she is deeply involved in promoting contemporary art in India, founding the Shalini Passi Art Foundation and MASH India in 2018. These platforms support emerging artists and foster creative expression, emphasizing innovation and inclusion. An active member of the art community, Shalini Passi has served on the Advisory Board of Khoj Studios since 2012 and is a longstanding patron of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, one of India’s major contemporary art festivals. Her personal collection includes masterpieces by significant Indian and international artists, and also showcases rare antiques, avant-garde furniture, and tapestries, reflecting her refined taste and expansive vision for art and design.  Her philanthropic efforts focus largely on arts education for underprivileged children in Delhi, organizing workshops and raising funds to empower marginalized communities through creative learning. She also supports various social causes, including her role as a UNICEF Champion for Children, advocating for education and welfare.
