TAKE on Art was invited to present a four day Critical Writing Workshop conceptualised by editor and publisher Bhavna Kakar for ‘Breaking Ground’, the first Indian Ceramics Triennale at the Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur in November 2018.

The workshop commenced on 15 November with ‘Writing Object’, conducted by writer and editor Skye Arundhati Thomas taking a cue from artist Travis Jeppesen’s idea of ‘object-oriented writing’. It was followed by ‘Reading Art, Writing Thoughts’ by prominent art historian, Raman Siva Kumar from 16 to 18 November in which K G Subramnayan’s terracotta murals and reliefs were taken as a case study. The four-day workshop concluded with the presentations by all the participants on the last day. The workshop was supported by The Raza Foundation.
